19th Annual Winter Wimp Footrace Set for Jan. 11, 2003

The Fulmont Roadrunners Club’s annual Winter Wimp footrace will be held “snow or shine” on Saturday, January 11, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., in Hagaman, N.Y. Click here for a copy of the application.

This will be the 19th running of the race, at which competitors may run 2.2 or 4.4 miles (one or two loops around the Hagaman course, which begins and ends at the Hagaman Civic Center on N. Pawling Street).

Awards will be presented to the first three finishers, male and female, in both the 2.2- and 4.4-mile races, and to the top three male and female finishers in the 4.4 miler in eight age divisions. The first 100 runners to sign up will receive a complimentary long-sleeve T shirt.

Following the races, there will be hot chicken soup, as well as hot and cold beverages and snacks, for runners and guests alike.

Highlighting the post-race ceremonies will be presentation of the Fulmont Roadrunners’ annual cross-country runner of the year awards to the top male and female runners in Fulton and Montgomery County high schools.

The pre-registration fee (prior to 1/6/03) is $12 for members and $15 for non-members, with a portion of the proceeds going to the club’s Dern Memorial Scholarship for college-committed high school runners. Race-day registration is $16 for all and will be permitted until 12:30 p.m.
