Grand Prix

Club members are automatically enrolled in the FMRRC Grand Prix Race Series, which consists this year of 14 races in and around the New York Capital Region (see list below). Participants' eight best races are scored, and members who accummulate the most total points--overall and three deep in seven age divisions--in those eight races are recognized with awards and certificates handed out at the club's annual Pizza Bash awards banquet in November.

Rules
  • Open only to FMRRC members.
  • No need to sign up (members automatically entered).
  • Points awarded to first five club finishers, male and female, in seven age divisions: student (18 and under), open (19-29), submaster (30-39), master (40-49), senior (50-59), 60-69, and 70+. First place gets 10 points, second 8, third 6, fourth 4, and fifth, 2. Participant's age at time of his/her first GP race of the year determines his/her age division for entire year.
  • Awards presented to three males and females who accumulate the most points in eight of the 14 races in each age division. The male and female members with most total points in those eight races at the end of race schedule win special awards.
